How to Tie an Arbor Knot
Help. Run the line through the eye of the hook, then tie a loose double overhand knot in the end of the line. Different situations call for different knots. The knots needed for tying fishing line to a hook are different from the knots needed to join two sections of line together. This knot can only be used with different lines if the spool has braid ready and non-slippery. Slide both knots to tighten against the spool.
If you practice these knots with a thin rope it is easier to see what the live end is doing as you turn and tighten the knot. Improved clinch knot keeps untying whenever I pull hard enough. I don’t know why, but I think the problem is in the part after the wraps.

Use saliva or liquid to reduce the friction. It’s not necessary, but it is recommended to wet all fishing line knots with saliva before cinching down. This will prevent friction which can lead to weakening the line. Palomar has been my go to for over 25 years and it has never failed.
Pull the line through the entire reel until there is 1/8th of an inch between the line and the end of the spool. 1/8th of an inch is about the size of a nickel. Refreshed my memory, bin a while since i done knots thanks.
