New World fishing hotspots and how to get fish oil
Fishing Hotspots in New Worlds are unique pools containing fish that will appear inside specific areas. A fishing hotspot is quite similar to a mining node. Press the Left Mouse button as soon as the game says, “Hook! Hotspots act as “nodes”, and can be depleted, just like a Mining node . While you can continue fishing when the hotspot is depleted, you will no longer see the “Landed in Hotspot!” text when you cast, nor will you get the quicker bite.
While the fish needed to deplete a hotspot still needs to be confirmed, in previous releases the amount of fish varied from 10 to 20. If you want to know the specific locations, you can customise this handy interactive mapto show each type of fishing spot and where to find them on the map. One way or anotherNew Worldwill encourage players to try out different aspects of the game. Whether it’s for a quest or you just enjoy catching fish inNew World, it’s only natural that you may want to do it in the most optimal way possible. The total Fish count is 10 with a respawn time of 45 minutes.
Therefore, these hotspots should be your primary fishing locations. The quality of the fish will significantly depend on the type of hotspot. Once you’ve gotten a fishing pole, found the right spot, and prepared your bait, it’s time to score a catch. You’ll notice a few options like Cast and Equip Bait.
Trackable means that you can see them on your compass at the top of your UI. Fishing hotspots are places in Aeternum that offer faster “bite” speed whilst Fishing. Hotspots contain the same fish species as the rest of the water they are in, but the quicker bite rate allows you to catch many more fish in one time period. Hotspots shared the same table of fish for the region’s water types we did not see any special fish unique to hotspots. The difference is the rarity boost and speed of bite.
Visit one in any village to turn your favorite catches into sentimental decorations for your house. You can then salvage the fish to receive items like fish filets, fish oil, and other crafting ingredients. If your line lands in an active hotspot, you will see green text that says “Landed on Hotspot!” rather than the depth. Equip a Fishing Pole tool. You can get one from the first fishing story, Fishing With Shields, or make one at the Workshop with Fibers and Green Wood.
Different colors will represent the tension in the line. They will go from green to orange and then to red with increasing strain. There are different types of Baits that you can use but remember that Baits are optional. We will discuss more Baits in detail later in the guide. The first and the most essential step required for fishing is finding a Fishing Pole tool.
Check back later to take your improved chances at rare fish. If you are after Uncommon, Rare or Legendary fish then hotspots should be your primary fishing locations. The quality of what you get really depends on the type of Hotspot you are fishing in. You can apply different perks to your fishing pole to increase XP gained and the chance of getting better fish as well.
