This Is The Quick & Easy Way To Tie A Dropper Loop Knot
Finally, force the point of the hook into the lure at the spot where it rests naturally against the side. The completed hook should have a rough “D” shape. A 3/0 or 4/0 hook will be the ideal size for most types of soft rubber lures.
Fold over the end of the line to make a double line, then tie a single overhand knot. Wrap the second around the first at least five times, and bring both loose ends back to the middle between the two lines. Line up the ends of each line together for several inches, then wrap the first line around the second at least five times. Thread the line through the eye of the hook, then make 5 to 7 wraps around the line with the loose end. Are you catching more redfish than you can handle?
Where I fish this is not considered a “dropper loop”, but is a “terminal” loop and is a great way to attach sinkers. In the Northeast surf casters often like to use a smaller “teaser ” lure 18″ or so above the main lure, . The teaser is often a fly or light hook threaded with a small Fin S, Gulp Swimming Mullet, or something similar. The teaser is attached via a loop that is tied in the middle of the leader.
Poppers and chuggers are molded with concave faces, which cause them to “chug” noisily through the water when pulled. They can come in handy when your catch is confined to a single concentrated area. Egg sinkers work really well when you’re casting in windy conditions. If you want to remove or reposition the sinker, untwist the rubber and gently pull the line out from the rubber.

The best way to tie one line to another is to make use of a “double-uni” knot. Overlap the ends of the two lines in opposite directions and double the end of one line over on itself so that it forms a small loop. Wrap the remaining line around both the inside of the loop and the opposite line 3-6 times.
I recommend that you get the split-shot with the ears on the back that you can use to open the split-shot to remove it from your line. This really helps save time and make quick weight adjustments. They are also one of the simplest types to use. He was once a highly successful director of the Zoo and Aquarium, but he has since hung up his gloves and moved on to other ventures. Dion's passion for animals began at a young age, when he would help his father care for their family pets. This love grew exponentially when he started working at the zoo; Dion quickly became one of the most experienced keepers in the business. He credits his success to the relationships he built with both staff and animals over the years.
